In the heart of the village of West Mersea, providing a range of catering and hospitality offerings in our fully licensed tea room and restaurant. We pride ourselves on quality food and a warm, friendly service. As a team we have grown and achieved so much in our short time of being open; we have had consecutive years as a number one reviewed restaurant and café on Mersea. A ‘2020 Good Food award’ and more recently a community recognition award.

Our seasonal menus offer a variety of freshly prepared options. We use fresh local ingredients wherever possible cater for a range of dietary requirements. We currently offer breakfasts, lunches and Afternoon teas, Sunday lunches and deliveries of various items. Most of which are available from our online store. The Gilt Rooms has also played host to private functions exclusively hired by the hour with a dedicated team on hand.  Some months we host events of our own; Christmas parties, themed afternoon teas throughout the year, themed evening meals in our sunny courtyard garden. A very popular outdoor cinema experience under the stars watching your favourite movie, with a cocktail or two in hand and classic cinema snacks.
